Kintsugi

Afterwards the pieces lay shattered,
Some I couldn’t tell from the dust,
I picked up those that mattered,
Even those covered with rust.
I couldn’t remember how they fitted,
I mended one then another,
I found they all knitted,
Melded somehow now renewed together.
