Self Protection

Meanwhile I am silently secretly listening
Practicing quietly my hidden self protection
Peacefully creating a growing quietening
Softening into a perhaps shared introspection.

Should you then choose to break that affinity
With forethoughts false with words assigned untrue
As if you could exact upon me a silent penalty
Meanwhile I am listening beyond those words for you.
